 John Sergeant was born on 14th April 1944 in Oxford England. John trained as a journalist at Darlington College. He has also studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Magdalen College, Oxford.
John married Mary Smithies in 1969 and has two children, Will Sergeant who is a TV & Film Producer/Director/Writer and Mike Sergeant, who is a BBC News Reporter. John’s dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing will be Kristina Rihanoff . Despite their age gap they both share one thing in common; they have Russian backgrounds. John’s mother was Russian and Kristina is from Siberia, Russia.
